PIMEX 2010 - 7 Weeks To Go

With seven weeks to go before PIMEX 2010 kicks off, the show is filling up…

Thirty-five yachts are now confirmed for the in-water display. Amongst them are some of the biggest yachts ever to grace PIMEX. The 103 ft Mangusta will be the largest yacht on display and officially qualifies as a Superyacht. The Ferretti 881 and two of the latest Pershings at 80ft and 72ft will also be in the water. Many other top-of-class yachts will be in attendance, and for the first time in Asia Windy Boats will be represented by their 58ft Zephyros design.

Now in its seventh year, PIMEX 2010 is an annual marine and lifestyle exhibition held at the Royal Phuket Marina Exhibition and Conference Center in Phuket. With 2,500 sq metres of air-conditioned space adjacent to the marina basin, PIMEX boasts the largest in-water display of any exhibition in the region - over 40 yachts. The event is South East Asia’s most effective showcase for boating and marine lifestyle and leisure. Several Phuket-based property and residential marina projects will also be exhibiting their top-quality offerings.

An exciting new development for 2010 is the introduction of a series of seminars that combine international experts on maritime security with technical experts in their fields. Organized by the Human Development Forum Foundation (HDFF), the Phuket Maritime Forum will facilitate discussions on new perspectives and advancements in policy and technology surrounding harbor security, archipelago states security, security of sea lanes, and new sustainable technologies.

The exhibition and seminars will take place alongside the boardwalk of Royal Phuket Marina. With four restaurants overlooking the marina the beautifully relaxed atmosphere offers a great day out for families, those curious about the marine lifestyle, and of course hard-core boat junkies.

Bangkok Preview

The PIMEX Bangkok Preview and Press conference took place from November 6th to 8th, 2009 at the beautifully refurbished Pan Pacific Hotel. Twelve exhibitors from the 2010 roster joined us in the capital where the press were very interested in the new products coming to PIMEX 2010. Reports will appear in the December issues of their respective publications.

PIMEX 2010 Open For Business

The next edition of PIMEX is now in the advanced planning stages, following the successful relocation to the stunning Royal Phuket Marina and the opening of the waterside Exhibition Hall last year. Now part of the Informa Yacht Group, promoters of the world-leading Monaco and Abu Dhabi Yacht Shows, PIMEX returns in 2010 with a new look and a new format.

The seventh show is being moved from its previous December slot to January, when a significant number of the high-end visitors who are looking to invest in the region, as well as existing part-time residents of the island, are in Phuket for Christmas, New Year and beyond.

Now more than ever is the time to continue your marketing effort and seek new clients.

Pimex’s marketing effort is now backed by Informa’s vast databases from its uniquely diverse portfolio of world-renowned exhibitions in all sorts of sectors, such as property and health, as well as marine sectors. International exhibitors and visitors are set to increase significantly as a result, and the marketing campaign is targeted to attract 100 exhibitors and 5,000 quality visitors over the four days of the show.

Over 70,000 hotel rooms are traditionally fully occupied on the island at that time of year, 30% of which in 5 star hotels. Already established as the regional Boat show of choice from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, from Singapore to Hong Kong, this perfect island setting is a magnet for a weekend of serious buying and relaxing leisure.
